We have several breeders in the Central Florida area who surrender their retired show cats to us. If you are interested in adopting a Persian please feel free to contact us. We do have several Persians posted on Petfinder but we have many more who are not yet posted. Please keep in mind that breeders retire cats for many reasons and that in most cases these are young cats. All of our "retired" cats are less than 4 years of age. Several of our cats come with non-transferable papers and some even come with champion papers.
If you decide to look at the pictures of the Persians please note that most of the pictures show the cat with a full coat of fur, however, as a general rule we shave all of the Persians that are surrendered to us. We do this for three reasons: 1) They must be partly shaved for the spay/neuter surgery. 2) Their fur is usually quite matted when they are surrendered to us.
3) Shaving them allows their new families to slowly adjust to taking care of such a labor intensive coat.
If you are interested in one of our Persians please do the research on the proper care of this breed's coat. They need to be bathed and brushed on a regular basis or their fur will mat. Most breeders keep the coats trimmed short unless they are actively showing, so this is a possibility but make sure you research the cost of having a cat groomed 2-3 times per year.
